Pregnancy is a wonderful time of life that can sometimes be challenging as you experience both physical and emotional changes. Pregnancy yoga is a nurturing way to re-connect to your changing body and to connect with your body through gentle moves that feel comfortable to you. Pregnancy yoga can help you maintain your muscle strength and promote good posture, relieving some of the lower back discomfort associated with pregnancy.
Yoga can also reduce the tension that might occur in your spine further to the changes in your body shape. It also helps prepare you for the big day by developing the strength and flexibility of the pelvic floor and by contributing to optimal foetal positioning.
Breathing techniques and relaxation are used to help you replenish your energy level and promote better sleep. You will also learn techniques that can be useful in labour.
I run my pregnancy classes from my private home studio. I love teaching in this space as it enables me to create a lovely, nurturing atmosphere for the mums-to-be, and to have a cup of herbal tea and a biscuit ready at the end of the session.
Classes are suitable for 14 weeks of pregnancy. Groups are kept small, with a maximum of 5 students. I also do private sessions – in my studio or at your home.
